The Goodnight Toner Is Actually Worth Adding to Your Night Routine
Updated: Sep 27

Toner is usually the easiest step in my skincare routine to skip. The Goodnight Toner might have changed my mind.
I’ll admit it: toner has never been the skincare product I get excited about.
A good moisturizer? Absolutely. A serum that makes my skin noticeably glowier? I’m listening. But toner has always felt like one of those extra steps that sounds important without ever making enough of a difference for me to care.
The Goodnight Toner is different.
This is exactly the kind of product I want in my nighttime routine — easy, quick and actually satisfying to use. Instead of feeling like another unnecessary step between cleansing and moisturizing, it makes my skin feel like I’ve actually finished washing the day off.
And that might be my favorite thing about it.
It Gives “I Have My Life Together” Skincare
There is something about using a toner at night that automatically makes a skincare routine feel more put together.
The Goodnight Toner has that effect without turning your routine into a 12-step process. Cleanse, toner, serum, moisturizer, bed. Done.
It's especially nice on nights when your skin has been through everything — makeup, sunscreen, sweat, pollution, whatever else has been sitting on your face all day.
After cleansing, the toner feels like that final reset before moving on to the products you actually want your skin absorbing overnight.
But Does Toner Actually Matter?
This is where I think the Goodnight Toner wins.
I'm not interested in a skincare product just because it makes my bathroom counter look cute. If I'm adding another step, I want to notice something.
What I like about a nighttime toner is the way it can make skin feel smoother, cleaner and more prepped without relying on that super-stripped, squeaky-clean feeling that we were all apparently obsessed with years ago.
And when your skin feels good immediately after using something, you're much more likely to keep using it.
Consistency will always beat owning 25 products you touch once every three weeks.
Who Would I Recommend It To?
The person who wants good skin without making skincare their entire personality.
If you're already someone with an elaborate routine and five different active ingredients scheduled throughout the week, you probably don't need me to convince you to buy another product.
But if your nighttime routine is basically cleanser, moisturizer and maybe a serum when you remember, this is the kind of extra step that actually feels manageable.
It also scratches that little luxury itch. You know the feeling: freshly showered, hair up, pajamas on, skincare done and suddenly you're convinced tomorrow morning you're going to wake up as the most organized version of yourself.
Sometimes skincare is about the experience, too.
The Mention List Verdict
The Goodnight Toner gets a yes from us.
Not because toner is some magical skincare necessity that everyone needs immediately, but because this is the kind of product that makes a simple routine feel better without making it more complicated.
It's easy. It feels good. It makes nighttime skincare a little more satisfying.
And most importantly?
It's a toner I would actually remember to use.
